Book Review: 'Grant Morrison's 18 Days'

This book from Dynamite Entertainment, is a preview for an animated motion comic series from Grant Morrison, in a reimagining of the mythic tale, Mahabharata . . . and follows the course of the climactic war that concludes the age of the gods and begins the age of man. It is the prototype for every war ever fought. The scale is epic, wherein the biggest armies ever conceived face one another across the ultimate battlefield to decide the fate of the future.

Inside is a detailed pitch for the series, including the story, characters and layout for scenes in this mythic tale, together with concept art, fully rendered artwork and a script from the chapters in the story. The art by Mukesh Singh that features in the book, as demonstrated in the cover art, is simply stunning, the attention to detail is just something else, and is the reason why I bought this hardcover book!

If you picked up the book just for the art, like me, then it's well worth it. It's just a shame that the art that is in the actual animated series (which you can see on the Graphic India YouTube channel) isn't the same that's in this book.
